This is a pic I did for skilark92 recently. She wrote a ficlet to go with it but I'm not sure if she's posted it yet so I'll hang onto that for the moment but look for a link to the story soon! It came out so sweet it'll melt your heart. ^-^ I wanted to share the pic however, as I'm still taking orders for these pic's or 'Christmas cards' so if anyone is interested just drop me a line. They run $20 for the full color pic and you choose the charcters/scene, or you can leave it to me like Skylark did and I'll do my best to come up with something nice! ^-^ I'll post the link to that story as soon as I'm sure she's had a chance to post it herself. ^-^

Skylark's Christmas pic ^-^

Thanks sweety! I really love doing work like this. ^-^ *huggles*

I need to stop posting stupid sketches of Heero and Duo and sit down and finish something for once in my goddamn life. Anyway, I did this thing this morning for someone special and I figured I might as well share it with the rest of you because you're apt to like it just as much as the person it's for. Anyways, it's not very exciting, but I hope you like it anyway. Sorry if it skews any LJ tables XD

I had a question concerning art type software and thought this might be the place to ask it. ^^;
My off-spring has recently started playing around with those animated music videos, but it seems like a rather laborous pass-time. I suspect that using the tools that come with Windows is probably NOT the way to go.
So... if I were to look into buying her software for working with anime video files, does anybody have any recommendations? I see all these cool animated icons and AMVs all the time in LJ, but what's the best tools to make them?
Any and all suggestions would be welcome.

Natea had put this link into the comment of one of the early posts. I followed it and found it to be really good. Makes me want to go back to some of my own stuff and try reworking them... ^^ If only I had time. :)

I've been browsing around, looking for a good tutorial on skin shading and lip shading in digital colour.

This one isn't quite what I was looking for but it's an unusual way that I've not seen before and it got a great result.

I've been playing with a little light on this and though I'm not real happy with the the method I think I'm headed in the right direction nee? ^-^

Ohayou gozaimasu!! Here's a pic I just finished for a story I'm still working on. It is adult in nature (see above label ^_^) and is a prime example of the problems I'm having.

When you look past the content lol.. ok.. look at the window or something!.. the lineart is really not up to par, the line quality is no where near good enough so I'm looking for a new method. Also, the coloring is no where near the quality I'd like to achieve. I'm going to try this one again and see if I can get a more cannon shading but those hard lines look odd in the dark picture. I've really gotta learn to use layers more effectively but I'm having trouble with them.

[edit] K, here's a version with harder shadows. Comments and suggestions on how to improve this method are welcome! ^-^

Anyhow, I've also included a nifty little link to some basic drawing techiques and PSP coloring tutorials that I ran across yesterday as howtodrawmanga.com.

Enjoy! ^-^

I wandered past Sunhawk's post that sparked the whole thing and decided to gather the links that people had posted and put them up here...

I'm going to be away (the obligatory Easter family visit) until Monday evening. I'll write up a few things over the weekend and post them when I get back.

Thanks for setting it up already, link_worshipper. :)

I'll be ready and willing to help and do on Tuesday. ^^

Have a good weekend!
